Hello everyone, this is Dave Tomko with Cattlemen’s Livestock Market in Lakeland, Florida, bringing you the June 2, 2026 Market Report.

This week at Cattlemen's Livestock Market, we sold 275 head of cattle through the ring in Lakeland, Florida.

The cow and bull market remained strong, with prices ranging from steady to $5 higher. Calves, however, were generally steady to $5-$10 lower as buyers attempted to pull the market back following recent record-high prices. With futures boards trending lower, there is some uncertainty about whether this adjustment will continue or if the market will rebound next week.

Despite the softer calf trade, the market remains historically strong.

Dave noted that while buyers are trying to cheapen the market, tight cattle numbers could make it difficult to sustain lower prices for long. For now, it's a wait-and-see situation.
